FOWM #252 - Strengthening the Body of Christ in MENA

FOWM #252 - Strengthening the Body of Christ in MENA

Dear Friends and partners of World Mission,

Serve Globally seeks to practice all five of the mission priorities of the Covenant Church across cultures and around the world. One of those priorities is to start and strengthen churches. What does it look like to start and strengthen churches in the Middle East | North Africa (MENA) region?

This FOWM project seeks to strengthen the body of Christ for the sake of more effective mission in the region where the great monotheistic religions of the world, including Christianity, began. Local MENA ministries/churches are partnering together for capacity building and resourcing. As well, we anticipate the possibility that Covenant churches would seek to partner with and learn from our sisters and brothers in the MENA region. The body of Christ in MENA is rich with diversity and is home to both ancient and modern churches with traditional and contemporary approaches to worship and mission. Many cultures form multiethnic and multilingual churches and organizations. As we celebrate and affirm this diversity, in this FOWM project, we seek network among churches and ministries, communicating together, and cultivating a sense of unity around God’s mission.

The Apostle Paul calls the church to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3). Our partners are eager to see the church united—and therefore strengthened—in the MENA region and beyond. Will you join them?
