FOWM #238 – Sharing the Gospel in Nepal

We take many things for granted. For example: access to the gospel, biblical teaching, and Christ-centered programs through radio and television. However, in many parts of the world, such as in rural Nepal, channels of gospel communication are simply not there. Consequently, many people do not have the opportunity to hear the Christian story. This is why I am excited to tell you about how Serve Globally is partnering with Reach the Nations Nepal on a television/radio project called The Message of Hope Nepal (MoHN). MoHN seeks to broadcast the Christian story in creative forms, utilizing the national broadcasting system. Through this project, Reach the Nations Nepal hopes to share the loving, saving message of Jesus Christ in a nation that is only 1.4 percent Christian. It also hopes to encourage the Nepali churches to be all that God has called them to be. It is ultimately a project to make and deepen disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). MoHN is supported by a network of established churches and Christian organizations throughout the country. In particular, the Jyoti Church, a denomination comprising more than 25 churches, will be directly involved in promoting MoHN’s programs. MoHN is a massive undertaking, involving the purchase of equipment, the hiring and training of personnel, travel, government requirements, and many other expenses to make this television/radio project possible. Its budget is almost $100,000. However, to make and deepen disciples—especially in remote, isolated, and even forgotten areas—is worth it! It is what Christ has called us to do. Will you prayerfully consider giving generously toward FOWM Project #238 so that the church in Nepal can bear witness to the whole gospel among those who need it the most?
